… after the meal was cleared away (only one hour into the flight) the crew disappeared and were nowhere to be seen. On the return leg I went to ask for a glass of water at the back of the plane (A340) and a curtain had been firmly drawn across the galley area as if to say ‘we are not available so don’t disturb us under any circumstances’.
Ακριβώς την ίδια εμπειρία είχα κι εγώ στην τελευταία μου πτήση με Ολυμπιακή (πριν ένα χρόνο). Το πλήρωμα το ψάχνεις και δεν το βρίσκεις.
London to Mykonos via Athens and Santorini to London via Athens. Have to be the worst flights ever! On boarding the London flight, all we could smell was cigarette smoke – the reason became obvious in the flight when I disturbed the flight attendant smoking in the rear toilet. Very low class, unfriendly service and grotty airline. Such a shame when Greece is such an amazing, beautiful place.
Once onboard for the 737 for the middle of the night flight greeted by a crew whose opinion was clearly that all passengers should be sleeping at the hour and they were thus authorized to hide in the galleys in the mean time. Even while being in business class it was a struggle to get a drink and refill.

Onboard service very poor. Cabin crew unfriendly – not a smile from any, and all requests were met with a sigh – and this was business class! Food basic , interaction between cabin crew and passengers non existant.
Flight attendants were unhelpful and looked incredibly uninterested in doing anything – never a smile.
When we arrived to check in for the 30-minute flight to Athens, the Olympic flight didn’t even appear on the departures screen. An agent from another airline pointed out OA offices, where I found a man sitting at a desk who seemed surprised that nobody had bothered to put the flight on the monitor. While I was there, I asked him if the flight was on time. He shook his head while looking at his computer monitor, but offered nothing more. I asked out loud if he know how long the delay would be, and he again shook his head again without even looking my way.
Service onboard was miserable. Among many other things, I was handed a cracked plastic cup of Coke with the beverage sprayed all over me and no comment from the steward whatsoever. Instead of being served a bag of peanuts, it was tossed onto our tray from behind. I have never experienced anything like this before.
Staff come round with drinks and indifferent quality food early in the flight, collect plastic detritus, serve coffee and then disappear. Several people rang for service but all calls were ignored.
The staff were initially friendly, at first speaking both Greek and American. As the the flight progressed they became very rude and only spoke Greek. Too bad they don’t like their jobs but don’t take it out on the customers.
The worst point for both flights was FA attitude. Not a smile from any of them. They gave orders in unpolite way to passengers. Overhead bins reserved for their own luggage. After meal service, they went to sit and chat. No welcome on board while boarding (not even good afternoon), no thanks or goodbye while disembarking. I have flown dozens of airlines and this is probably my worst experience in terms of FA behaviour.
Cabin crew disappeared after collecting empty food trays and appeared again just before landing. Same happened on the return leg.
No amenities, old and uncomfortable seats, service only if you demand it, very poor entertainment system and a crew who stand and talk in very loud voices all night. The food would qualify as decent if you were in Economy but is mediocre in Business and very poorly served. Add to this flight time changes for no apparent reason, no explanation of what might be going on (even from the attendants in the Business lounge in Athens airport) and a distinct attitude from most personnel that having us around was annoyance and you get what Olympic is like. All I can say is never again. This was our last trip on Olympic.
When you asked for a drink you got a finger pointing to where the water was as the attendant proceeded to sit down and read a magazine. Pushed our service button twice on the plane, once for defected ear phones & then for water. No one came to see if there was a problem or to offer assistance. One gentleman got up to get a drink & he received such an unfriendly reply. Don’t they realize how dry the air can be & diabetics need food within certain time frames. Medications need to be taken. I truly hope I never have to fly Olympic Airlines again. Someone in this organization need to realize customers are paying for a service.
Έχει κι άλλα, αλλά νομίζω ότι αυτά αρκούν.
